It’s time to return trust to our Board of Trustees. For too long, Simi Valley has suffered with overcrowded classrooms, insufficient maintenance and financial mismanagement. This has resulted in deteriorating facilities where our kids go to school, no plan to manage the growth anticipated in our community and additional taxes to pay off a $145 million bond.

The responsibility for all of this rests with the elected school board. The school board has direct responsibility for financial management, growth, facilities, curriculum, scheduling, special needs and much more.

I have spent many years working in high growth business, including a business I currently own with my wife Debbie. I understand that in order to succeed, you need to plan. I have developed strategic plans for organizations and have made sure they succeeded. I am never satisfied with the status quo.

An elected trustee must be a good steward of the taxpayer’s money, must come up with creative and innovative solutions to problems and must take responsibility when things go wrong.
